The exhibition “70 Years National Gallery. European Dialogues” was opened at the Palace, on April 26 2018, in the presence of the official guests Iliana Iotova – Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Todor Chobanov – Deputy Mayor of Sofia, and Amelia Gesheva – Deputy Minister of Culture. Greeting addresses to the Director of the National Gallery sent: Lilyana Pavlova – Minister in charge of the Bulgarian EU 2018 Presidency, Boil Banov – Minister of Culture, Vezhdi Rashidov – Chairperson of the Committee of Culture and the Media at the National Assembly, the directors of the National Historical Museum, the National Polytechnic Museum, and the National Academy for Theater and Film Arts.
The exhibition illustrates the ‘geography’ and the intensity of the Gallery’s participation in the broad spectrum of European cultural relations over the past 70 years. It is opened in Sofia till May 27, and in June will be hosted by the Haus Wittgenstein Bulgarian Cultural Centre in Vienna.
